water gets in behind the screen which causes the display to go blank. Fortunately the buttons will still work, but you have no idea what your set temp is, etc.

I have had it replace 5 times over the past 6 years, and although my unit is no longer under warranty, I feel that a defective part, which was just replaced in June, should be guarantee longer than a few months. THEY KNOW THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM - why should the consumer suffer. Supposedly they have resolved it in a newer model m-drive, but not they're giving me hard time about replacing it under warranty. Also - the side panels "guarantee for life", warped in the 2nd year and their fix was just to screw the panels down.

THEY DID NOT REPLACE THEM.

When you buy a spa for 3 times the price of a warehouse club, I would expect 3 times the quality. I am sooooooo frustrated with my Dimension One Chairman II spa!

Reason of review: Damaged or defective.

Monetary Loss: $9999.

Preferred solution: replace part with new improved m-drive.

I have also had my M-controller fail on average once/year. Recently, I have decided not to replace it again and just try to use the buttons by memory because the screen is blank. Not sure of the water temp while it is running.

i am installing my 3rd m-controller. had the same problem the rest of you described.

the display fails after moisture apparently enters. my last controller has been unusable for several years but fortunately was at 102F so i just left it. Some younger relatives were in the tub a few weekends ago and temp has been lowering. i think they may have been playing with buttons.

am replacing with new controller. will give it one more shot then go to another tub.

I knew I was not the only one with this problem. You were lucky to get one years use out of the control panel that cost over $300.

This has been going on since day one. Good luck in trying to get dimension one to help. There is no fix other than to buy a new hot tub. To buy the same Nautilus, I was offered a price of $9,400 plus tax.

Once Iโ€™ve been kicked in the teeth, I am weary to give Dimension One any more money. Dimension One: please tell me I am wrong and stand behind your poorly engineered products.

Have the same issue - 1 year warranty is a joke as the panel usually goes out around month 10

Guest

I experienced the EXACT same problems. tired of replacing the m-drive topside control for almost 500 bucks every time. Will NEVER buy another dimension one because of this.

Same problem here, 5th m-drive unit now. I see D1 has again modified the m-drive, now there is part number 8000-D19 (19th revision maybe..., atleast i had D17 and D18 which died).

The design of the buttons is different, from the pictures it seems to be superior as water cant enter that way.

Not sure if it holds anyway.

Did anyone here had the problem with this latest D19 revision? Not sure if its worth spending the money again.

My D1 tub is on its 4th and soon to be 5th M-controller. They have all had LCD Issues.

Can't read the screen... all dark.... too dim.... The rest of the controller works fine.

you can't read the screen. If not a defective part issue, then its a defective design issue.

My opinion is that the heat/moisture causes the issue. So either replacing ever 6 or 12 months or relacte to outside the tub area so as not to be under the cover and subjected to the moisture area.

i have a d1 amore bay spa from 2010 and I'm going on my third control pad so one every Aside from this frustration, there is no dealer in my area and getting service is a challenge. Love the tub when it runs but there is always something.

The service from D1 is horrible. S

Are you still having problems with the M-Drive top side? Call me Robert @ D1 81*-***-****

Guest

agree, #6 drive needs replacement

goes out about every 8 mos. I keep it until i need to restart or refill because I can't read the screen.

Buttons usually work but now those don't work. pump running constant.

do not buy D1.

service also absent.

I'm replacing my third control panel. Same problem.

Horrible design.

It can't be sealed well enough to last a reasonable period of time.

Guest

Same here. I'm on #4, and it has completely failed.

D1 should replace these for free until they get it right. My 13 year old car has been repaired less than this M Drive part.

D1, never again will I pay top dollar for your substandard equipment.

Guest

I have gone through 4 M-Drive control panels as well on my Amore Bay. D1 Spas service department would not even give me the courtesy of a respond to my request to deal with this issue, instead i got email from thirs party parts supplier saying they will gladly sale me a replacement unit. Defective and poor designed components should not be the continual problem of the purchases of these very expensive tubs.

I do admit while it was under warranty they were helpful, but now don't have time of day for response

Guest

I have had this issue multiple times but the controllers usually last a year or two. I will do the next repair on my own to see if I can get a better water seal. I can still have this done by a dealer but the part is about 300 and the service adds 300-400 more.

Any luck repairing it? I'm on my 3rd panel

If you are having isses with the M-Drive, please contact me at 810-523-****. The 2014 model has been performing exceptionally well and I will help you.

The control panel is a waste of time. Not only is it expensive, it fails within months.

First to go is the readouts. they get washed in 3 weeks. then the control buttons are hit or miss. I fail to see how this tub is far superior than my neighbor's.

He has one from a rec warehouse and is in it all the time, while I wait for a repairman (and $500). geesh

Guest

I have gone thru 4 control panels on my tub also! One only lasted a week!
